about KPH

Campaign Against Homophobia was founded in 2001 and is a non-government organization operating throughout Poland. Only volunteers work for the Campaign and they focus their efforts on a broadly understood fight against homophobia. When the organisation started their activities 95% of people in Poland claimed that homosexuality is a deviation that should be medically treated.

The organisation’s main aims are to promote legal and social equality for people outside the heteronorm – building up a tolerant society, in which gay, lesbian, transgender and other minorities feel comfortable in. So organises KPH regularly conferences, exhibitions, demonstrations,, workshops, meetings with politicians, academics, political lobbying and gives out the LGBT-rights magazine Replika quarterly.

KPH has local branches in Kraków, Wroclaw, Lód´z, Tricity, Toru´n and Silesia. KPH and Lambda Association, which very often cooperate (for example within specially formed foundations that organise events like Warsaw Pride and Culture For Tolerance Festival in Kraków) are together are the largest organisations of this kind in Poland. President is Robert BiedroĊ„.
